City of Columbus leaders warn residents not to attend illegal spring break event

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An anonymous party invitation to a Columbus park is being shut down before the music starts playing.

City leaders became aware of this invitation circulating on social media and moving to shut down the event.

It is unclear who is planning the event.

Columbus Mayor Robert Smith said events at city parks were banned by the city council during the coronavirus outbreak.

Elected officials say no one should show up to the event.
