CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – On Tuesday, May 17, 2016 the Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the West Point Police Department and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics conducted a search warrant at 750 Sunset Trailer Park in West Point. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said five suspects were arrested during the raid. Approximately $5,000.00 worth of illegal narcotics including Crystal Methamphetamine and Marijuana was seized. Investigators also seized three weapons and a small amount of U.S. Currency.

Arrested were Jeremy Shaffer, age 38 of West Point and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute; Kim Hardin, age 45 of Eupora and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent (Methamphetamine) and Possession Paraphernalia; Katie Carey, age 29 of Starkville and charge with Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Paraphernalia; Wilkes Wells, age 38 of West Point charged with Possession of Paraphernalia; and Jason Morris, age 37 of West Point charged with Possession of Paraphernalia.

Bonds have been set as follows:

Jeremy Shaffer – $20,000.00

Kim Hardin – $10,448.00

Katie Carey – $5, 448.00

Wilkes Wells – $448.00

Jason Morris – $448.00

Sheriff Scott stated Wells and Shaffer both remain incarcerated awaiting transfer to Oktibbeha County to face pending charges in their county. Shaffer, Hardin and Carey were arraigned Thursday morning in Clay County Justice Court before the Honorable Judge Chris McBrayer.
