Clay County Man Facing Slew Of Charges

CLAY CO., Miss.  (WCBI) – A Prairie man is arrested this week and is now facing a slew of charges.

Clay County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 33-year-old Richard Raines on Monday.

Raines is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He had several warrants served to him by various agencies that include a failure to appear, a bench warrant issued by Clay County Circuit Court for felony fleeing and child endangerment, and an outstanding capias warrant for sale of marijuana.

Raines is also wanted by the state of Texas on a felony warrant for possession of marijuana.

Raines’ bond for the controlled substance, felony firearm possession, and the failure to appear warrant has been set at over 100-thousand dollars.

No bond was given for the Clay County bench warrant for felony fleeing and child endangerment.

Raines will be arraigned in October for the sale of marijuana indictment. He remains in jail at this time.
