Clay County United Way Kicks of Annual Campaign

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – The United Way in Clay County kicked off their fundraising campaign with a luncheon as well as their annual Day of Caring.

Donors and volunteers spent Thursday helping out local nonprofits as a way to show how United Way money is being spent in the community.

Executive director Stacy Hays says the work is meant to give the community a helping hand with daily tasks.

“…A lot of times, especially with Sally Kate Winters where we had so many volunteers this morning, they don’t have the time on a daily basis or even on a weekly basis to get that many people together at one time.”

A total of 39 volunteers showed up to help the United Way and the community.
