Clay Democrats Decide Appeal Of Supervisor Race

WEST POINT, MS (WCBI) – Barring a court reversal, Clay County will have a new fifth district supervisor.    The Clay County Democratic Executive Committee has rejected incumbent Floyd McKee’s appeal of the August runoff results.  In that race Joe Chandler defeated McKee 760 to 752.  McKee challenged those results citing voting irregularities including people from outside the district being allowed to vote and people casting ballots whose names were not on the official voter roles. WCBI spoke with McKee and hjs attorney Will Cooper of Columbus who says they will sit down and look at all of the options available before deciding if they will file an appeal with the  Clay Circuit Court contesting today’s decision.
