Video: CMSD Settles Breach Of Contract Suit
ABERDEEN (WCBI) -A settlement is reached in the lawsuit filed by Leslie Smith against The Columbus School District and Superintendent Dr. Phillip Hickman.

HICKMAN
The case started back in August 2014 when the district voted to hire Smith as Director of Schools. A few days later, Hickman issued a statement saying Smith, who is also the uncle of Hickman’s wife, declined the 70 thousand dollar a year job. Smith says that never happened and sued the district for breach of contract. The original lawsuit sought 280 thousand dollars but the federal court records filed Thursday only say the case is dismissed because of a settlement but does not say how much money Smith will receive from Hickman and the Columbus Schools.
