OXFORD, Miss. – (WCBI) Cold brew will be flowing in Oxford, just in time for football season.

Oxford aldermen voted 6-1  in favor Tuesday night of an ordinance, which ends the city’s ban on cold beer sales.

Convenience stores in the area have lobbied city leaders for years for the chance to sell beer from coolers. They say people drive to neighboring Panola and Marshall Counties to buy cold beer.

The ordinance will also allow the sale of cold beer on Sundays.

It goes into effect in 30 days.
