Columbus AFB employee remembered as personable and selfless

COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus Air Force Base is remembering an employee that was found dead March 1 in his Monroe County backyard.

Steven Huebner was the 14th Force Support Squadron deputy at the base. He had served there since 2015.

“Steven Huebner was a valuable member of Columbus Air Force Base. We are very shocked and saddened to learn about Steven’s death,” said Col. Samantha Weeks, 14th Flying Training Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Huebner is also remembered by his coworkers as a personable and selfless man.

He focused much of his time on making sure Airmen and their families had positive experiences while stationed at Columbus Air Force Base.
