Columbus City Council Meetings To Air On New Cable Channel

***Press Release***

COLUMBUS – Cable One customers can now view Columbus City Council meetings live on Cable Channel 56 effective immediately. For over nine years, the meetings have been broadcast on Cable Channel 3, but the conversion by Cable One to all-digital channels caused the need for the move to Channel 56.

The meetings are broadcast to Cable One customers beginning at 5 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

All-new cameras and media equipment are being installed with a grant received from Cable One. The upgrades have been done at no cost to the city. The installation will be complete before the next Council meeting on December 2.

Meetings will soon be rebroadcast several times each week for viewers who cannot watch the meetings live. A full schedule of rebroadcasts will be announced in December.

In addition to Columbus City Council meetings, rebroadcasts of the Lowndes County Board of Supervisors and the Columbus Municipal Schools will also occur on Channel 56. That schedule will also be announced in December.
