Columbus city council places suspended men involved with stabbing

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Columbus city council met to discuss those workers involved in the stabbing incident.

Mayor Robert Smith placed the men on administrative leave immediately after Wednesday’s reported fight.

Only the city council can hire or fire someone.

City leaders opted to suspend both workers without pay until the next city council meeting.

That’s when the matter will be discussed again.
