COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A teenager was rescued from the Tenn Tom Waterway this afternoon.

Columbus police were called to a home for a domestic dispute just after 5 p.m.

When the officers arrived, the teen apparently took off running and went down an embankment, located at the corner of 1st Street South and 5th Avenue.

Columbus Fire and Rescue squads were called in with scuba gear and a boat.

They retrieved the teen, who once in the boat, jumped out again. Rescuers finally got him onto the boat ramp.
