Columbus Police Investigating Shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI) – Columbus police are investigating a late Friday night shooting.

The incident happened around 10:30pm near the 1000 block of Shady Street.

Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton says an argument in the street led to one person being shot. He says the victim left on foot and later collapsed not far from the scene.

The victim was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
