Columbus Firm Lands Multi-Million Dollar Contract

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Aurora Flight Sciences in Lowndes County is awarded a $48 million contract.

U.S. Senator Roger Wicker made the announcement this afternoon, January 4.

The Air Force contract will allow the continuing development of the Orion drone.

Wicker is encouraging Congress to approve the proposed funding for the unmanned aircraft.

If approved, drones could be coming off the line within the next 18 months.
