Columbus – Lowndes Chamber Celebrates Year Of Success

COLUMBUS, Miss- Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual luncheon open to all Chamber members on July 13, 2016. The event took place at Lion Hills Center from 11:30-1:00 and there were 150 guests in attendance.

I am excited to share all of our Chamber achievements with our membership at the annual luncheon” said Joey Bragg, CLCC President. “It’s our chance to really highlight the incredible programs and events we have been able to make happen in our community this year”.

Some highlights discussed were the upwards of $10,000 of scholarships given away this year through the Chamber of Commerce, the $25,000 raised for a new sign at the entrance of Columbus Air Force Base, the 375 CAFB Pilots whose lives are touched monthly for a personal welcome to Columbus through the Chamber Military Affairs Committee, and the 2 “Pilot for A Day” programs benefitting terminally ill children.

Bragg recognized that none of this would have been possible without the Chamber members getting involved. Bragg acknowledged and thanked all the committee members and committee chairs of Education, Military Affairs, Chamber Ambassadors, Chamber Board, Columbus Young Professionals and more. Bragg even thanked Barbara Bigelow at Columbus Main Street for being so easy to work with on Sounds of Summer. “This year, despite the heat, is the greatest attendance we have ever seen at Sounds of Summer,” said Bragg.

The sponsors of the Chamber Annual Luncheon included Citizen’s National Bank, Qualified Staffing, 4 County Electric, Express Oil Change, and Comcast Spotlight. The keynote speaker of the event, Jesse Broussard is a Marketing Director for Comcast Spotlight and enlightened the group on key digital marketing strategies they can use for their business.
