Video: Columbus Mayor’s Senior Unity Luncheon

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus senior citizens are thanked for supporting the city.

The 9th Mayor’s Senior Unity Luncheon was held at the Trotter Convention Center on Thursday.

It was an overflow crowd of people.

A number of people and organizations filled their plates with a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal.

Residents say the event has a special meaning.

“For senior adults to all come together and display their talents, and then come together for the luncheon to enjoy each other’s company and fellowship. It’s a good thing for the community, to bring people together, and we really need that right now,” said resident Carla Guyton.

There was not a luncheon last year because of renovations to The Trotter.
