Video: Columbus Officer Recognized for Good Deed

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The Columbus Police Department Overview committee honored a CPD Officer today for performing a random act of kindness while on duty.

Officer Drew McCain was on shift when he got a call about a stranded motorist located off Highway 82…

The woman had a flat tire and two small children in the car.

Unable to change it herself, Officer McCain offered his assistance and changed it for her.

A passerby saw McCain’s good deed and posted the photo to social media where it has been shared over 500 times.

McCain was given a honorable chief’s coin and certificate.

“It’s an honor, it’s a big honor you know I was surprised when they first called and told me they wanted to come do it. So I’m very appreciative.” said McCain.

Officer McCain says that he never expected to be recognized and that he was just doing his job.
