Columbus Police Department Losing 2 Veteran Investigators

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -The Columbus Police Department is losing a veteran investigator, but he isn’t going far.

Multiple sources confirm Captain Brent Swan has submitted his resignation to Chief Fred Shelton.

Swan is reportedly taking a job with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.

He was hired by former chief Tony Carleton, and has led the criminal investigations division for the past few years..

The police department’s investigative team is also losing another veteran, Andy Hood is retiring.
