Consolidation Meetings Announced For Montgomery County, Winona School Districts

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI-TV) – Mississippi Department of Education announced meeting times Monday regarding the upcoming administrative consolidation of the Montgomery County and Winona school districts.

A news release from the MDE says there will be meetings on Tuesday, March 21 to discuss details related to the merger. The schedule is below.

1 p.m. – Montgomery County School District school board members will meet at the Montgomery County School District Central Office (618 Summit St., Winona).

4 p.m. – Montgomery County elected officials will meet at the Winona School District Central Office (218 Fairground St., Winona).

6 p.m. – Winona School District school board members will meet at the Winona School District Central Office (218 Fairground St., Winona).

A bill passed in the 2016 legislative session to consolidate the districts, going into effect July 1, 2018. The district will be called the Winona-Montgomery County Consolidated School District.
