Corinth Man Assaults a Police Officer

CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) — One man has been arrested after leaving a police officer with a head injury.

Johnny Jennings, 55, has been charged with aggravated assault for assaulting an officer with a stick.

Police officials received phone calls about a suspicious man in a parking lot waving a stick and talking to himself. Officer Brad Wallace was one of the officers to respond to the call when Jennings ran from him.

Wallace went to pull out his taser and was hit in the head with a stick by Jennings.

Wallace has been treated and released from the hospital.
