Corinth Man Stabbed To Death

Corinth, Miss. (WCBI) – A Corinth man was stabbed in the chest after he went out to investigate a possible car burglary.

Greg Scott, 43, heard noises outside his Nelson Street home Wednesday night.

Corinth police say Scott confronted 59 year-old Jerry Miller in the roadway.

Investigators say Miller smashed a window out of a car and damaged another vehicle before Scott arrived.

Police were called to the area to investigate a possible car burglary. When officers arrived they heard screaming coming from Scott’s home. Scott went to his home after being stabbed and had collapsed in the kitchen.

He died at a local hospital a short time later.

Scott told investigators a man down the street had stabbed him.

When Corinth police arrived at Miller’s home he walked out on the front porch and confessed to stabbing Scott. Officers received permission to retrieve the butcher knife Miller said he used during the crime. It was hidden under his bed.

Miller will be charged with one count of murder and one count of felony malicious mischief.
