CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI)-Tension over Corinth’s tourism budget ends with the dismissal of all seven members of the Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The council members were removed yesterday during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Alcorn County Board of Supervisors and Corinth Board of Alderman.

Elected leaders on the joint boards or “supercommittee” say the tourism council is not complying with the line item budget approved for the fiscal year 2013.

The joint board says the tourism council failed to meet the $250,000 dollar reduction in the budget.

But, tourism council members say they were staying within the allocated $283,700 dollar budget for 2013.

Members of the joint boards say finding replacements will not be an issue.
