Coronavirus cases in hospitals continue to improve

JACKSON, MISS. (WCBI) – Hospitalization numbers continue to improve, as COVID-19 cases rise.

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 854 new cases today, along with 20 deaths.

678 people are in hospitals across the state with confirmed or suspected coronavirus symptoms.

159 of those patients are in I.C.U.

More than 101 thousand Mississippians are presumed to have recovered from the virus.

This means there are nearly 12 thousand presumed active cases in the state, right now.

In our area, Lee County has the most new cases with 40.

Lafayette County is reporting 18. Prentiss has 14.
