County Once Again Tackling Property Cleanup

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A dilapidated house that has been a thorn for residents and Lowndes County for years is again a problem.

Supervisors today ordered an Oct. 31 public hearing for a house on 128 North Chestnut in Oakdale Park. They’ve held numerous hearings in the last three years to get absentee-owner Keith Kimmerlee to clean up the site.

It was cleaned up up last year but the growth is back and the house is even worse shape, causing renewed health and safety concerns among neighbors.

County officials say they haven’t been able to get Kimmerlee to respond this time and are getting his mortgage and insurance companies involved to try to get something done.
