COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Create Foundation based in Tupelo has been stretching it’s arms further into Northeast Mississippi. A strong relationship is developing with create and The Lowndes Community Foundation.

Columbus Rotarians gathering for lunch today[Tuesday] were reminded by foundation president Mike Clayborne of trends and ways they assist with their charitable giving. A 100 thousand dollar grant is challenging the Lowndes Community Foundation to raise 200 thousand to strengthen their endowment fund.

“This challenge grant is just intended to be the seed money to get that established and moving. And we certainly would expect that fund to grow substantially over the years and eventually have millions of dollars in the fund,” said Mike Clayborne, President, Create Foundation.

Last November Lowndes became the 17th county under the Create umbrella.
