Deadly Hit And Run Still Under Investigation

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) – Macon Police are still investigating a deadly hit and run that happened a week ago. 31-year-old Barcus Evans was found lying in the southbound lane of Highway 145 in Macon.

Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun says Evans died of multiple blunt force trauma. Macon Police Chief Lucious Mason says they’re working around the clock to solve this case.

“We just want the public to know if there’s any information out there, we’re asking people to come forward with the information no matter how small they think it is, just give the police department a call,” says Mason.

Mason also says hit and runs are hard crimes to investigate, but assures the public they’re going to get answers.
