Deadly Noxubee Shooting Ruled Accidental

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The shooting death of a Columbus teen is ruled accidental.

Noxubee County Coroner R.L. Calhoun says his investigation is complete.

Spenson Bennett Jr., 13, was struck by a bullet at a Noxubee County home on Buggs Ferry Road on December 29th.

Investigators say a gun was dropped and then it fired.

Bennett and his cousins had just returned from a hunting trip.

Calhoun says an autopsy and tests results led to his ruling.
