Donations sought for deputy who lost house, possessions in fire

CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Donations are being taken for a Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Deputy who lost his home and possessions in a fire.

Deputy BJ Gladney was on duty Tuesday when 911 received a call about a house fire in the county.

That fire was at Deputy Gladney’s home near Okolona. The home and everything in it was destroyed.

Now, a GoFundMe account has been set up to try and help Deputy Gladney.

“We’re just asking anybody that would feel led to donate, we’re hoping to be able to give it to him in next couple of days, where he can buy some clothes, shoes, it’s just devastating to him because he has lost everything that he owns,” said Chickasaw County Sheriff Jim Meyers.
