Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) — A park bench was dedicated to the City of Columbus in memory of a man that made many contributions to the downtown area.

Benjamin “Benji” Livingston, who died in April 2014 from a heart attack, was honored today as family and friends came together at Leadership Plaza.

His mother, Patsy Buster, said, “…he loved people and people really loved him and we just knew that this add maybe to some people’s life just to be able to see it and reminisce some of the fun memories they had with Benji”.

“He was above reproach, he had a heart like a giant…”, said Johnny Buster, Livingston’s stepfather, “…and if he ever had anything that needed to be corrected or fixed, he was right there…and he was always going above and beyond to help his fellow out.”

Livingston worked on Huck’s restaurant downtown as well as reconstruction efforts on the coast after Hurricane Katrina.
