Drier Weather is Coming!

SATURDAY: Look for scattered showers and storms starting the morning and lasting through the evening.  Not everyone gets a storm, but if you do it likely won’t last long.  Better chances look to be along I-55 in the morning and in the Golden Triangle/West Alabama areas in the afternoon/evening.  Highs will be in the low 90s, but the heat index at times will push into the triple digits in spots.  By Saturday Night, storms are expected to push to the south of the area.

SUNDAY: We’ll have a little bit of drier air arriving as a weak cold front shoves the summertime gulf moisture to the south.  It won’t bring much relief in the heat as temperatures stay in the 90s, but the positive is that it be quite as muggy out.  In the shade, it might actually feel nice outside.  Can’t rule out an isolated storm, with the best chances being the further south you go towards I-20, but most if not all will stay dry.

MONDAY-TUESDAY: Thanks to some drier air in place, we’ll keep storm chances limited to perhaps one or two through the area, with again the better chances being south of US-82 towards I-20.  Temperatures stay in the upper 80s and low 90s.

WEDNESDAY-NEXT WEEKEND: Gulf moisture makes a comeback through the latter part of next week bringing us back the chance area-wide for summertime storms.  It will be hot and muggy with temperatures in the low 90s.
