Early morning crash kills Vernon woman

VERNON, Ala. (WCBI) – A single-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Vernon woman.

Megan Pike, 31, was killed when the 2018 Toyota she was driving, left the roadway and struck a tree.

Pike was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on County Road 34, three miles west of Vernon at around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Alabama state troopers continue to investigate.
