Ecru man charged in fatal Louisiana crash

ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WCBI) – A Pontotoc County man is jailed in Louisiana after his tractor trailer caused an 11 car crash Wednesday night.

Louisiana State Police says 56 year old John White of Ecru was driving on Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish when he plowed into a group of cars stopped on the interstate because of an earlier wreck. White’s rig started an 11 car chain reaction crash which ended with one woman dead and 18 others injured. White is charged with one count of negligent homicide and 18 counts of negligent injury
Troopers are working to figure out why White’s truck did not stop but say right now is does not look like White was driving impaired.
