Elderly Couple Killed In House Fire

CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A Valentine’s Day house fire claimed the life of an elderly married couple.

Officials say several fire crews battled the blaze at a home at 159 County Road 144 in the Shannon area.

Chickasaw County Coroner, Michael Fowler, says Maceo Jordan Sr., 92, and his wife Delia Jordan, 90, were unable to make it out their home, after it went up in flames around 4 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Officials say the smoke filled the inside of the home.

The two victims were found near a door around the carport area.

The State Fire Marshal’s office and county investigators are still investigating what started that fire.
