Election day hits West Alabama, not short of statewide controversy

WEST ALABAMA (WCBI) – Beautiful chaos has come for our West Alabama neighbors. It’s election day.

Positions of all kind, ranging from local, state, to federal levels are all featured on the ballots for voters.

Attention revolves around the Governor’s race, where current office-holder, Kay Ivey fights rumors brought on commercials about her faith and family.

This day is hectic for courthouse workers, but staff feel prepared to take on the ballot boxes.

“We have a lot of people here at the courthouse who are very familiar with our election system and what we need to do. We have a lot of absentees that are coming in. Everything is pretty much on the course to going as smooth as it can be,” said Lamar County Probate Judge Dale McGee.

In Lamar County, elections are for Sheriff, Coroner, Probate Judge, and all District Commissioners.
