End of week rain chance

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Middle of the week came in strong with lots of sun, a few light clouds, and manageable temperatures. The end of the week will be a little different, with our next round of rain moving into northern Mississippi.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Temperatures tonight are still going to be plenty cold. However, the overnight lows will stay at or above freezing for most of the corner. The cloud coverage will remain light to none through the overnight hours and into the beginning of Thursday.

THURSDAY: The beginning of the changes starts Thursday morning. Cloud coverage will be filling in and across the state, ahead of the rain. High temperatures will be in the lower 60s. The rain will move in during the early evening and will continue overnight into Friday morning. Low temperatures are going to be warmer, due to the cloud coverage, in the upper 40s.

FRIDAY: Starting off December with a gift to our drought. Rain showers will continue through the early morning hours of Friday. Eventually the rain will clear off to the East. A warm front passing will allow for temperatures to reach into the lower 70s during the afternoon. However, a cold front quickly files in behind to help clear some of the system away. A few showers are possible to linger through the afternoon.
