STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – For the next two days the Starkville Area Arts Council is hosting it’s fifth annual Garden Expo.

The Mississippi Horse Park literally has everything you need to make your garden or yard the envy of the neighborhood.

“There are so many different things to offer here we have education exhibits. We have items for your garden, we have plants trees, scrubs. There are speeches, lectures, just amazing opportunities here,” said Ali Jones, Garden Expo Facilitator.

And its never too early to think about planting that fruit or vegetable garden.

“Well right now its just a little early for planting, but its never too early to buy them. You just have to make sure you keep them in a protected area until the weather warms up. Make sure you are watering them, fertilizing them. And then after the last frost you may go ahead and put them out in the garden,” said Susan Watts, Louisville.

Its about time to get out into the yard, we stumbled upon one expo exhibiter with some suggestions.

“This time of the year we recommend that you do a lot of mulching, you leaf removal, your hedges, your hedges need to be trimmed back right now. Go and get your yard you know looking good for spring time,” said Trace Day, Expo Exhibitor.

MSU mascot Bully will be at the expo on Saturday, and you can have your picture taken with him.

On Saturday from 9am-5pm “Garden Mama”, Nellie Nell will host her weekly radio show on Supertalk Radio LIVE from the Expo from 8am-10am.
