Exceptional Drought Now Present In Region
UNDATED (WCBI) – The drought is at the most severe level possible for parts of Northeast Mississippi and West Alabama.
New maps released Thursday show all of Monroe County and good portions of Pickens and Lamar Counties in Alabama in the exceptional drought range. That means widespread crop and livestock losses are possible. Reservoirs, lakes and water wells are also at risk of drying up when an area is classified as being in an exceptional drought.
