Fairly Tame Christmas Weekend

FRIDAY NIGHT: Clearing skies with lows around 30. There is the potential for some areas of freezing fog late so beware if you’ll be out and about. Winds simmer down into the 2 to 6 mph range.

SATURDAY: Areas of fog are possible during the morning but mostly sunny conditions should take over by midday. Afternoon highs should be back into the mid to upper 50s.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Clouds increase and that means warmer lows in the low 40s are on tap. A few showers may develop as the night goes on.

SUNDAY: Showers are possible during the morning with more in the way of thinning clouds during the afternoon. The chance of rain is 30%. Highs top out in the 50s.

MONDAY: A mostly sunny to partly cloudy day is on track with highs in the 50s. Santa should have smooth sailing flying in to the Deep South Monday night with partly cloudy skies continuing and temperatures in the 30s.

CHRISTMAS DAY: We’re keeping a 20% chance of showers in the forecast along with mostly cloudy skies. Highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s still appear reasonable.

WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: Model data suggest the possibility of wet and potentially stormy weather as the week comes to a close. Some strong storms can’t be ruled out either. Milder highs in the 60s are likely but rain is the trade off with warmer air this time of year. We’ll continue to fine tune things as new data arrive.
