Fatal Crash In Booneville

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate a deadly crash, after a driver flees from a safety checkpoint.

Master Sergeant Ray Hall says the driver turned their lights off and turned around when they saw law enforcement on Highway 4 near Booneville.

Yesterday’s incident only lasted a few minutes when the pursuit down Carolina Road ended in a fiery crash after the vehicle collided with a tree around midnight.

The driver has not been identified and there were no other injuries.
