Fatal Crash Under Investigation In Lowndes County

NEW HOPE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man is dead after a head-on collision in New Hope.

The crash happened on Yorkville Road East, near Chain Drive, about 12:30 Monday, September 18.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says 29 year-old Corey Michael Thompson died at the scene.

There has been no word yet on the condition of anyone else involved in the accident.

Lowndes County deputies have not released any information about the crash and it remains under investigation.
