Fatal Lee County crash victim identified

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus woman was killed in a head-on crash over the weekend in Lee County.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green said Jessica Wiggs, 26, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon on County Road 300.

Investigators said two cars were involved and one had four people inside including three children. Two of the children were airlifted to LeBonheur and one was taken to NMMC in Tupelo.

The department said one car was traveling west and the other was traveling east.

One of the cars went into the oncoming lane and struck the other car head-on.

The accident remains under investigation.
