Video: Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A man is dead in Columbus after he lost control of his motorcycle.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says 60-year-old Thomas Dudley Minyard of Columbus was killed just after midnight Monday morning when the Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle he was riding crashed into the fence median barrier on Highway 82. He was thrown to the ground and the cycle skidded another 150 feet.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Minyard was eastbound on Highway 82. The accident happened at the 18th Avenue on ramp.

Investigators say they don’t know what caused Minyard to lose control.

Merchant said Minyard may have been on his way to his home off Military Road just north of Columbus.
