Formal Processional Held for Fallen Soldier

MONROE CO, Miss. (WCBI)- On the night of June 7th, the body of an area soldier was brought back home.

Sergeant Kyle Thomas, 24, died on May 29th in an accident at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California.

Sgt. Thomas was assigned to the 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team.

The Mississippi National Guard said Thomas and three other soldiers were conducting a combat maneuver in a tank. That vehicle was involved in a rollover incident.

Sgt. Thomas died from his injuries on Memorial Day.

He was brought back home to Amory in a formal processional.
