Former Alcorn Official Set For Sentencing
The first federal sentencing for some former Alcorn County officials is set.
Former Alcorn County Purchasing clerk Paul Rhodes will be sentenced February 4th in Aberdeen. Rhodes has accepted a plea agreement that he did defraud the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality by submitting bogus claims connected to illegal dumpsites. Rhodes masterminded a scheme to overcharge the MDEQ for work performed or in some cases submitted claims for dump sites that did not even exist. Rhodes could be jailed for 20 years and fined a quarter million dollars plus restitution.
