Former Diamond Dawg with Alzheimer’s throws first pitch in MSU game

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Remember the man who surprised his father with a trip last year to see the Diamond Dawgs Play in the World Series?

Well, he surprised his father again.

Thursday night, Bill Lea threw out the first pitch for the start of the weekend series against South Carolina.

Bill has Alzheimer’s and his story has captured the hearts of people across the nation.

Bill is a former Diamond Dawg himself playing the game back in the 1960s.

His son Matt has started raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association.
