Former Firefighter Pleads Guilty

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A former Columbus firefighter pleads guilty to a federal charge stemming from an exploitation of a child investigation.

Tyler Lofton was arrested in April 2013. He pleaded guilty July 27th.

At that time, Lowndes County deputies said a cyber crimes task force investigation led to a search warrant at Lofton’s home.

Investigators say child porn was found on his computer.

Detective Tony Cooper says Lofton is free on bond and will be sentenced at a later date.
