Former state Supreme Court Chief Justice to run for governor

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – He’s a former state Supreme Court Chief Justice and the son of a former governor.

Now, Bill Waller Jr. wants to lead the state.

Our CBS sister station, WJTV, confirmed Waller intends to run for governor on the Republican ticket.

Waller plans to make a formal announcement when he files the proper paperwork before the March 1 deadline.

His father, William Waller Sr., was governor from 1972 until 1976.

Lt. Governor Tate Reeves and state Representative Robert Foster are also on the GOP ticket.
