Fulton Hotel Tax
FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) – The initial numbers are in for the City of Fulton’s new hotel tax and the seem to be falling short of original estimates.
City officials say, in a two month span Fulton has collected more than $6,200 in funds from its new tourism tax.
That comes to close $3,100 per month.
When factored for the year that comes to close to $38,000, which falls short of the $50,000 to $70,000 city officials were hoping for.
Although the numbers only represent two months, Mayor Paul Walker says the results show promise.
