Furniture maker adding capacity and employees

NEW ALBANY (WCBI) – A Union County furniture maker is adding new products and new workers to its market.

Kevin Charles Fine Furniture is investing more than $2.5 million to expand its production capacity.  30 new workers will be added to the current payroll of 72 employees .    Kevin Charles Furniture is sold primarily in the City Furniture showrooms based in South Florida.  All of the product lines are hand assembled in the 63,000 square foot New Albany plant.

Jackson, Miss. (March 7, 2019) –  Kevin Charles Fine Upholstery is expanding in New Albany by increasing production of the company’s exclusive line of furniture. The project is a $2.54 million corporate investment and will create 30 jobs.

Kevin Charles Fine Upholstery produces high-quality furniture that is hand-assembled at its 63,000-square-foot facility in New Albany. The company produces the Kevin Charles brand of furniture for City Furniture, a South Florida-based retailer founded by Kevin & Keith Koenig, allowing City Furniture the flexibility to respond quickly to its customers’ needs. The expansion will allow the company to meet an increase in consumer demand.

I want to personally thank Three Rivers Planning & Development, the Mississippi Development Authority and the Union County & city of New Albany leaders.”

 

The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for building improvements.

Kevin Charles Fine Upholstery currently employs 72 workers in New Albany.
