Gipson Returns to Aliceville City Council

ALICEVILLE, Ala. (WCBI) — A familiar face is returning to the Aliceville, Ala. City Council.

Mayor Billy McKinzey and the remaining council members voted 3-1 with one abstention Wednesday night to name Aliceville accountant Marva Gipson to the open District 3 seat.

The 67-year-old Gipson was the incumbent but lost the seat to 25-year-old Terrance Windham in the city election last August but challenged the returns.

Last week a judge overturned the results and voided the seat, leaving the council to fill the vacancy.
