Guilty Plea In Student Murder

OXFORD, MS ( WCBI ) –  A guilty plea this afternoon in a 2013 Lafayette County murder.   Derrick Boone of Laurel admitted his role in the shooting death of Ole Miss grad Student Zach Mclendon.  Mclendon was shot to death at an apartment complex near  Oxford.  Boone pleaded  guilty to capital murder and will serve a life without parole sentence.   Two others charged in the case have yet to stand trial.
